Fox Valley area organizations to host women’s march in Geneva

Inspired by the momentum of the Ladies’s March motion began two years in the past, two regionally-based mostly organizations have decided to host a one in downtown Geneva.

The Fox Valley Ladies’s March will begin with a rally at 10 a.m. Jan. 19 within the west parking zone of the Previous Kane County Courthouse at one hundred S. Third St., organizers stated.

In accordance with organizers, the march is scheduled to step off at 10:30 a.m. from South Third and James streets and head south to the Geneva Metra practice station where it can finish.

We Can Lead Change Fox Valley and Kane County Coalition organized the event after listening to in late November that the Ladies’s March Chicago wouldn’t be hosting a march this yr, organizers stated.

“We put collectively this march on a real brief notice,” stated Leah Beck, one of the members of a management workforce for We Can Lead Change Fox Valley.

“We really feel there’s a lot momentum that comes out of the marches when it comes to standing up for rights of girls, equality and inclusiveness.”

We Can Lead Change Fox Valley was shaped out of the Ladies’s March Chicago in 2017, she stated.

Everyone is welcome to take part within the march, organizers stated.

“Our march is led by ladies, but is for everybody,” Mary O’Connor stated in a news release.

“When ladies rise, we convey our communities with us, and our march is bringing collectively individuals from all backgrounds, faiths, genders, ethnicities, disabilities, sexualities, ages and immigration statuses to affirm our shared humanity,” O’Connor said.
