Amazing Race dentist’s death investigated, SC cops say

The demise of a Columbia-area orthodontist who gained national fame by showing on “The Superb Race” is being investigated by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.

Jim Raman died Monday, in line with his obituary on Dignity Memorial’s website. He was 42 years previous.

After responding to a Lakefront Courtroom house at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, a dying investigation was started by the sheriff’s division, public info officer Capt. Adam Myrick advised The State.

Dr. Raman was discovered lifeless on scene, Individuals magazine reported.

Myrick stated nobody has been arrested or detained, and the sheriff’s division is just not at present looking for any persons of interest or suspects.

No explanation for demise has been released to the public.

Calls to the Lexington County Coroner’s Workplace were not immediately returned. Coroner Margaret Fisher stated “nothing suspicious or felony is concerned with the case … and out of compassion and respect for household my office won’t touch upon it,” WIS reported.
