Mobile police officer shot, but injury not life-threatening

MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

A Mobile police officer was shot Friday morning on St. Madar Street, but the officer’s injury is not life threatening, police said.

The officer was transported to USA Medical Center for treatment, police said.

The shooting happened on St. Mardar near Live Oak Street. That’s two blocks north of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.

The officer reportedly was serving a warrant. 

Dogs and puppies were removed from the scene in an animal control vehicle.
