(CNN) — A Greyhound bus was involved in a police chase Friday night near the Wisconsin-Illinois border following reports of an armed man on board, authorities said.

The suspect, who has not been identified, claimed to have a gun and made threats to kill people Friday as the bus was en route to Chicago from Milwaukee, the Racine County Sheriff’s office said.

Wisconsin and Illinois law enforcement attempted to stop the bus after a passenger called 911, officials said. Dozens of patrol cars followed the bus Friday night as other officers shut down traffic on Interstate 94.

The passenger — “a disorderly and possibly armed” man — was arrested when the bus came to a stop near Wadsworth, Illinois.

There were 50 passengers on board the bus, Greyhound said in a statement.

Authorities evacuated all the passengers to safety and no injuries were reported, officials said.

The Illinois State Police said they are investigating whether the man was carrying a gun.
